Ingredients

- 1/2 cup basmati rice
- 1/2 cup bengal gram(chana dal)
- 2-3 onion (sliced)
- 1 tomato chopped(optional)
- 2 green chillies chopped/slit
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 bay leaf
- 3-4 cloves
- 4-5 black pepper corn
- 1 black cardamom
- 2 whole dry red chillies
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- to taste salt
- 2-3 tbsp oil
Steps
30mins.
- Now lower the flame and cover with lid.Allow it to cook in it's own steam for few mins or until water evaporates completely.Switch off the heat and leave it covered for few more minutes.
- Chana dal pulao is ready to serve. Serve hot with curd or as it is.
